RAGI MUDDE - Millet Ball
Hi everyone,
Today will take you through the best local food of south India (Karnataka) The Ragi Mudde
Ragi is a kind of millet. The Ragi is grinded to powder/Flour. Ragi Mudde(Ball) is made up of Boiling Ragi flour in water, as the flour gets cooked, the semi solid dough will be formed. Adding a little more flour will make it semi solid.
This is when the Balls are made.

Ragi Mudde is always served with a gravy. Preferred one is always a Chicken Gravy or the mutton.
The Ragi mudde is made into small pieces of balls and are dipped in the gravy. And the best part is how u have it.
You do not chew it in your mouth. You will swallow those small balls dipped in spicy gravy.

The Hotel is called Military hotel because of the fast selling food item - Ragi Ball and Chicken Gravy.
The Military hotels were formed to serve Military in British rule in India and Ragi Ball was the main item, hence the name Military hotel.
