Plan B
I found myself in a strange Town in my country and I just needed a place to sit down, have a cup of coffee and do work with some free WiFi and a nice plug for my laptop. It being a strange city, I pulled out my phone and brought up Google maps to see what nearby cafes there were. I found one or two small ones that really didn't have comfortable seating. I then resorted to driving around to see what I could find, a pizza shop or anything at this point would do!
Going along one of the main roads, I spotted a huge and very newly built complex, a strip mall of sorts. Maybe I could try my luck here, if not I'd just satisfy my curiosity and explore a new place, something I love to do greatly. Let's see what I get out of this investment!
I pulled in and just randomly entered one of the doors randomly and low and behold there was a quaint and perfectly brilliant little cafe staring at me! If I was never lucky at all in my life, I definitely was that day. It was a Sunday and all the other shops were closed except this one! It was empty, calm and peaceful with just one barista, just the way I prefer my work spaces.
As always, I order a cappuccino first as if they could make that properly, in my opinion, any of their other drinks would not be a problem. The barista got to work and produced a wonderful cappuccino! It was perfect in temperature and flavour. They even used local coffee beans to boot! (Roastel).
The atmosphere was great and perfect for me at least. No loud music and there were books to read as well as awesome cakes, cupcakes, brownies and macaroons on sale. I decided to try one of the confetti cupcakes and it was delicious! I didn't go with chocolate right away because with the white cake, you can taste how well they make it properly. Chocolate tends to overpower everything else.
My friend who came later on ordered a chai latte and it was also of local origin. That too was delicious! ( Yes I did take a few sips!)
All in all, Plan B was a Godsend and a miracle to me. Being in an unfamiliar town and finding exactly what I needed in the moment in such a short space of time was unbelievable yet amazing to me! The coffee was great, the cake was delicious and the WiFi was fast making it the perfect find in a strange area and was in a way, Plan B!
