It's wonderful to hear the rain on the roof for a second week in a row.....
Here in NSW a drought has been declared across the whole state. A good friend of ours in the Central West has been tragically hit having to pay 10-20k every couple of weeks to feed his stock. Sadly his sheep are still dying. Ironically, this has been the best lambing season for a while now with the sheep producing twins and triplets. Sadly though, the ewes are barely strong enough to feed her lambs.
He showed me a pic of his ute tray filled with dead sheep... I didn't include it as it's just too tragic.
On a positive note.....this follow up rain is extremely welcome! A hint of green is starting to poke through.. It's certainly a site for sore eyes.. Everything was so brown and dry.. Some small towns around this area have even run out of water. The Turon river is DRY!! Water restrictions have been in force for sometime but reserves ie: our Ben Chifely dam is also depleting, so yet again I will say how much this rain is appreciated.
It's now 11.59 pm, and as I write this it's starting to come down heavier.. Best case scenario we get at least an inch..
Well, best be going to bed.. Another early start in the morning...
Thanks for reading....Have a good one!
Cheers Dardi :)
