Climate Change doesn't necessarily mean things get hotter!
Climate Change means just what it says: That the climate is changing. Some places may benefit, but most will not. In the long run, climate change could spell the end for humanity.
The dropping heat in some locations has been attributed to a difference in pressures that have been caused by initial temperature differences. For example, temperatures rising in the Siberian region of Eurasia has caused the atmospheric air pressure to rise, inadvertently pushing strong winds to South Asia - which has given birth to the noticeable cold spell areas like South China and Thailand have been experiencing. This is because, besides the temperature drop inherent to cold wind, it also pushes away clouds and temperature is lost due to radiative cooling.

Moreover, the most worrying aspect about climate change (at least, in my unprofessional opinion) are the rising sea levels. As the ice caps continue to accelerate in their ice loss (the North Pole being the first to go), that will endanger countless coastal cities across the globe.
