Hey Steemians!
So literally my last post was about creating a new account on the Steem Blockchain with Steemconnect. It's an easier and quicker way to get your friend a new account on Steem if you can't wait for the approval period when signing up using the "normal" Steemit.com method.
Check out my last post if you want to see what this tool is all about and why it's possible. But for a TL;DR, I'll give a recap
"To actually create an account on the steem blockchain is not free. There is a fee that is supposed to be paid, and the fee for such account creation are agreed upon by special people on the blockchain called "Witnesses"..... The way the Steem Blockchain works, any account with enough bandwidth allocation, as well as enough steem to pay for the fee, can be able to get another account."
So, now that you've understood why this is possible, lets get to the point of this post.
Presently, the "issue" that people may face with paying 3 steem (as of the date of this post) to create an account may be that it's too expensive. And a generous Steemian may not be able to create too many account for his friends and family.
Some enthusiastic Steemian may simply not have not enough liquid steem to pay for the account creation fee x 30 requirement.
So, there is actually a "like a boss" version of creating an account with Steemconnect.
let's go straight into it.
Go to the Steemconnect.com account creation tool and go though the creation as usual.
Only pay the minimum account creation fee (no need to x30)
Delegate the rest of the fee from your account (you can delegate more, way more). You can do this by inserting how many "vests" you want in the "vests" form.
Vests is how the Steem Blockchain sees Steem Power. It is calculated by the witnesses and the blockchain and the easy way to calculate the conversion by by going to Steemdollar Vest Calculator. Key in how many steem power you wish to delegate, and you'll see the vest equivalent amount.
So with that info, plug that into the Steemconnect tool.
Voila!!! You've created another account with minimum fee and delegation (which are Steem Power that still belongs to you). With this, you might help way more friends get an account and by the time they have enough Steem Power, you can undelegate the SP and get them back to you (maybe even make that a challenge to your friends!!)
How is this better?
First off, you need to pay way less fee (30 times less to be exact). Meaning you dont need to spend as much. Since the rest can be delegated. Also with delegation, you can the option to delegate more SP so that the new account will have more bandwidth. Take for example this new account against the last account i created.
You'd see just by delegating slightly more SP than burn the steem for a new account. That account has more bandwidth and because of that, your friend will be less susceptible to bandwidth insufficiency.
So there you have it! Here's to all the folks who can't wait to get a steem account and has you who are willing to lend some steem to get them on and be a Steemian!!
