A bit of background
After reading @rishi556 post about his witness votes Here I figured I'd also try to justify my votes. In the process I ended up unvoting a vast majority of my witness votes because I either couldn't justify or didn't know enough about the witness to justify the vote.
Now I can a few strict rules on my voting. First, I won't vote for any witness that directly votes for @netuoso. This is because of the rumoured DHF milking and such. Generally I just figured I'd avoid supporting that person in general.
I was also debating not voting for anyone who directly voted for @therealwolf but decided against it since really I don't have anything against him other than a difference in opinion.
Next is they have to be running api/full nodes and or contribute a very good project to the hive ecosystem.
So here are my current witness votes as it stands ordered by their witness rank as of this post.
- @steempeak by @peakd - It's the front end I use on a daily basis and really should be the face of hive imo.
- @arcange - Runs HiveBuzz Engage and a great many projects, also has an api node if I remember correctly. Generally like to support this person.
- @ocd-witness - Curation project that is helping grow many communities. Also acidyo doesn't have his own witness otherwise I'd vote for that one too.
- @leofinance - No brainer, Leo is a great group of projects making huge waves in hive and crypto in general. Only ever keep hearing good things coming from them!
- @deathwing - Reliable api node operator.
- @steemitboard by @hivebuzz - Support specifically for hivebuzz project. I like that project a lot.
- @roomservice - Made hiveonboard.com, generally does a lot of good for hive.
- @c0ff33a - Best witness in the universe imo. Runs full API nodes with multiple hivemind instances etc. Just a straight up great guy and also makes some damn good coffee.
- @fbslo - made whive and such, which are big things for hive imo. also does loads of other stuff as well.
- @gerber - Dcity... nuff said.
- @dbuzz - hive twitter nuff said. =p
- @hextech by @rishi556 @sn0n @edicted @foxon (foxoff) - This group right here probably have a collective IQ of over 9000.
- @cadawg - worked on nftmart and many other things. generally a good witness pick imo.
- @whiterosecoffee - @c0ff33a's coffee buisness's witness.
Closing thoughts
So there you go. It's surprisingly difficult to find very good reasons to support a witness when you really think about it.
Especially when you pay very little attention to what most of them are doing and don't research about them.
In the end.. Really we should be holding these people we vote for to very very high standards, after all.. They are the ones who keep this blockchain ticking. They better damn well be doing everything they can to support hive and make it better.
Also I do realise that a few of my votes are probably not particularly following the rules a set above. but hey they are more like guidelines really. =p
