Hi everybody on Hive!
Some of you may already know us, we are @anna-newkey and @steve-o2023 and offline we form the duo "Steve O and Anke". Well, technically speaking are we solo and duo artists and cover songs, we don't write our own stuff like some other clever people do here on Hive and elsewhere.. 😉
We have recently started getting a bit more organised and our friend @steevc suggested we should create an account for our music and the idea grew on me..
Just to confirm "me" is @anna-newkey and I will be looking after this account which might be a bit of a struggle but we'll see how I get on.
A Bit About Us
I have been blogging here for a little while so I suppose many know already what I'm up to most days; I am from Hamburg in Northern Germany and moved to the UK many moons ago. I have a little Yorkie Mia and sing and play a few instruments in my spare time.

Steve is fairly new to Hive, a keen guitar player, singer and motorcyclist and has recently travelled much of Europe on his bike.
He has been playing gigs for many years and is well known in the local music scene. He regularly gets invited back by venues and has recently started taking me along to join. His beautiful guitar playing is inspiring and we both really love performing together!
Our Musical Connections
If you have followed my blog you will know that we go to a fair few open mics in the area and get invited for longer slots at special events. We have been part of the Arlesey Jammers for some years and some of them are here on Hive, so far @steevc, @purplesinger, @daniellemurray and @todayslight; hopefully more in the future.
Our gigs are usually split into equal measures of solo and duet material to keep things interesting. This has given me a great boost in working harder at songs and widening my own repertoire and technical skills. Steve's list of songs is already pretty long and keeps growing as he's very good at picking up new songs quickly, the many years of playing clearly show!
A Final Note
The plan is to use this space for pictures and videos from performances for now, solo and together, but in future there will also be studio recordings here and whatever might relate to a musical space.
I will try to post here as often as I can but it may turn out to be sporadic as there is just too much going on offline and cutting videos up and such like takes time. As I said: We'll see!
