Leaders of the car industry that walk alone have united to create an "ecosystem" that will further drive technology. Intel and Toyota have announced they will set up "Automotive Edge Computing Consortium".
Companies are planning to share data in order to create better maps and better technology in driving assistance.
In this collaboration will be DENSO, Ericsson, Nippon Telegraph, Telephone Corporation (NTT) and NTT DOCOMO.
Toyota has announced that in the coming months efforts will be made to expand the consortium, which will focus on increasing network capacity for further data to be processed by the machines.
