I've installed it on the older iPhone 8, 7 and the 6 and can vouch for this fact. iOS 12 brings a boatload of innovation to the table and truly ensures that your new iPhone runs super slick. Here are the top favourite bits I loved about iOS 12.

Apple has hugely improved on over performance in iOS 12 and it is quite noticeable. As I played Asphalt 9, the game ran super slick, however, I had over 40 apps open in the background. To achieve that level of slickness is absolutely unreal. Even on my current Apple iPhone X. iOS 12 aims to offer twice the performance when on load. That’s not all though, transitions are way smoother and apps fly as you switch through them.
@"Grouped Notifications FTW"
Remember the time, until a few days back, when you used to receive separate notifications for an app? Well, that is a thing of the past now. In iOS 12 notifications are stacked, according to the app. This makes it a much neater way to access them and you can choose the way you want to receive notifications.

Spending way too much time on Tinder? PUBG? Well, Screen Time is here to help. It will give you a visual representation of the amount of time (in hours, days, weeks) you spend on a particular app on your Apple device. Which will hit you deep in your conscience and shake you at your core, eventually having you use your time more wisely on things that matter. You know, like replying to that email from your boss?

Human beings are an industrious lot. Which is why it only makes sense that we love to measure things. With the new Measure app on iOS 12, that’s exactly what you get to do. Using the power of iOS 12 you can now measure objects around you. Simply start the Measure app, tap on the object and the measurement will be shown on the screen. You could even add points and measure a part of the object if that is the need of the hour.

A crisp selfie does wonders to boost that ego. Don’t get me wrong, the endless hordes of humans doing the selfie pose on the streets, mountain tops, beaches, and tons of other places don’t lie. The new camera app in iOS 12 lets you take even better selfies as it now generates a mask of you in the Portrait mode and then isolates it from the background. This ensures better edge detail on the subject and improved bokeh in the background.

The App switcher on the older OS was cumbersome as you had to swipe from the bottom of the screen, press down on the app and then swipe up or tap on the ‘x’ to close it. However, in iOS 12, you can close apps faster by simply swiping up from the home screen and swiping up again. Simple eh?

One of the most dreadful bits about the earlier version of iOS was me capturing accidental screenshots every time I pulled out my iPhone X from my trouser pocket. That problem has been curbed for good. Your iPhone won't take any accidental screenshots when you press the side and the 'Volume Up' button as you pull it out of your pocket. Screenshot capture is now deactivated until your iPhone screen is awake. Phew.

The latest version of iOS brings a host of new Animojis — specifically the Ghost, Koala, Tiger, and Tyrannosaurus rex. You can even add a tongue or a wink to any Animoji. However, that’s not all. Memoji too gets a massive upgrade, as you can customize a whole lot more and the facial expressions are neater.
