After intriguing, here is the RED Hydrogen One, one of the first smartphone with holographic screen, was presented to the US press. So we find a 3D screen, and a device for hanging multiple photo modules.
MODULAR SYSTEM FOR RED HYDROGEN ONE
Many were skeptical about Hydrogen One, its RED manufacturer setting the bar high. Thus, the announced holographic screen has aroused a lot of curiosities, some thinking it was mostly a marketing coup. However, RED, rather known in the field of high quality 4K cameras, seems to have succeeded. Journalist of The Verge website, Dieter Bohn, went to the presentation of the smartphone to the US press, and was convinced by the device. And what caught his attention in priority, it is not the holographic screen, but the modular side of the Hydrogen One. Thus, one can attach modules on a connector grid located on the shell. It is not surprising to see RED propose for its first module a device centered on photography. The smartphone will be able to receive camera lenses, including those of the following brands with which the company has partnerships: Fuji, Canon, Nikon and Leica.
HOLOGRAPHIC SCREEN FOR THE SMARTPHONE GIVING A FEELING OF DEPTH
As for the holographic screen, the reporter of The Verge is rather convinced: "Basically, it is a hologram. But the image does not really come out of the screen, the display gives especially a feeling of depth. An effect that he believes is much better than other 3D screens. However, Dieter Bohn does not consider that this screen is a sufficient sales argument for the purchase of the smartphone. But coupled with the modular aspect, it can convince a public handpicked, since the device will be sold at more than 1100 dollars. Other features of the device are more standard, with a Snapdragon 835 processor, a USB port, a jack and a 4500 mAh battery. The device should first be released in the United States in August, but we do not know if this will be the case in Europe.
