Such things are used in many sci-fi movies, starting with communicators in the "Star Trek", ending with the stopwatched display of the Terminator. Both designers and engineers can adopt several ideas from similar developments.

You can talk a lot about what it is - a good sci-fi interface. First of all, this is what allows you to perform the task as efficiently as possible. At the same time, the interface should inspire the public and like it. Science fiction shows the world the possible direction of technology development and gives the opportunity to think about it. In addition, such things have a strong influence on public preferences. So, one product can lose popularity because of the influence of certain films, while the other one will get it.

Very practical and thoughtful are, for example, pictograms for the transmission of emotions, simulators of holographic images and communicators from the picture "Star Trek: The Next Generation".
