Flying cars have been marketed in recent years as a potential for an alternative method of travel. Could there be opportunities here for people to book a flying taxi like they would a ride-sharing app option in the future? It might become a reality sooner than we think. But one area I didn't think about being interested in this market is airlines around the world. Some companies have already placed orders for a batch of flying vehicles and in the future airlines might turn to this travel option for smaller short-range flights for their customers.
Why not? If it helps them to serve other less popular destinations and be a cost effective solution then we could see airlines around the world opting for this. It could also help to bring further travel options to hard-to-reach destinations too.
In some areas that are already testing this method of travel they could soon start to see more opportunities on the market.
Ultimately it is going to take some time to expand globally and work with regulators to get those vehicles off the ground and established as trusted and accessible travel options for the people. However, it is clear that there is plenty of interest for this market. Maybe passengers would be more willing to experiment with this sort of travel if they see this travel option associated with a respected airline at first, instead of a new company perhaps coming around and offering ride-sharing like options.
