... yeap, you read that right. Technology has come so far that now we have foldable smartphones (again).
For now there are only two major players doing this: Samsung with the Galaxy Fold and Huawei with their Mate X. Smaller companies are also trying their luck in this new segment of the market. Worth mentioning would be Royole. And don't feel bad if you haven't heard of them. Their the start-up that unveiled the worldβs first bendable smartphone.
But other large manufacturers like Oppo, Motorola (a new Razor phone would be sweet), Nokia or LG are also working on this.
Is this the future? - Hard to tell.
I for one am glad to see new ideas and innovation.
About the design of the new released Galaxy Fold I'm still on the fence. I can see the functionality, but am not so excited about the thickness.
The price on the other hand will probably be the biggest problem with the device. At almost 2.000$ it's going to be a hard sell: you could buy a flagship phone and tablet for that money and still have some change left.
