Khosrowshahi was a guest on an investor forum in Tokyo on his first visit to Asia. Speaking in Japan, which Uber saw as one of the biggest markets, Khosrowshahi said it was inevitable that he predicted the start of the flying taxi service in the next 5 to 10 years. The company was also pressured by regulators to lighten strict rules on taxi industry in Japan.
Khosrowshahi stated that flying taxis will become the most convenient means of transportation in the forthcoming period and increasing traffic jams and accidents are the biggest reason for this. The San Francisco-based company has begun to work with taxis that will fly people in city centers with the system called "uberAir".
Many people say that after five to 10 years, the flying taxis will start to serve, but Uber's CEO will now see people flying around the cities.
