https://pin.it/dv4tpbkqo6i7xt Earlier this year, Facebook boasted about testing the "upvote" and "downvote" buttons on its social network. As the name implies, the button is able to push a comment up or down.
The mechanism is similar to the one listed on the Reddit online forum service. The upvote button is used to make a comment more popular, while the downvote button to make the comment sink.
After months of testing in small spaces, Facebook began to expand the feature to a wider user. It is terendus from the user reports, via Twitter.
Some users share screenshots showing they can already access "upvote" and "downvote" buttons. The majority come from Australia and New Zealand.
Presumably Facebook launches the feature gradually according to geographical location. Not yet clear when the feature can be tested all users around the world.
Clearly, these "upvote" and "downvote" features show Facebook's confidence to users to determine what's good and what's bad.
If the use is correct, this feature is able to drown negative comments and raise the prestige of positive-pitched comments. That way, online bullying via online bullying can be reduced.
However, if the use is false, then this feature can be disastrous, where the negative comment is viral. We'll see how this feature works for Facebook users.
