I recently tried out https://getrad.co for a quick test on motion capture technologies that instead of using dots or Vive trackers to track the users motion, they use machine learning in the cloud to compute and learn how the body is moving.
This kind of technology can be revolutionary in minimizing a 3D artists pipeline for AR, VR or any other kind of media production industry that relies on seamless animations on rigged models.
What really shocked me was that today, using tensorflow or other alternatives, we can use human pose tracking to have an AI look for bones, joints and movements, analyze them, and seamlessly, within minutes export an fbx animation that we as artists and creators can throw into whatever game engine or 3d design software and start using immediately.
I for one can't wait to see what the future holds when it comes to the implications of AI and the 3D design industries.
Thanks for reading ✌️
