Now, just put aside all thoughts for a moment of cost, all thoughts of the why, and just think about the concept, that’s bleary eye drunken late night banter you have when you see something and you combine things together to have this mini celebration of ideas flashing before your eyes and you have that stop you in your tracks eureka moment.
You see for a long time now I’ve been wanting to find a way to be regularly buying and shipping and moving (and keep it moving) ways to live like a digital nomad from the road without having to really stay at places, I guess I wanna be a boon docking, finding free places to stay over night, you know like trucker stops for instance.
Of course when you get to your destination you are not really going to want to lug a great big sodding Tesla semi around when you don’t need to, especially if you can carry your ‘town’ car with you while you travel — aka, the smart in the boot of your semi! :) — the smart above was a lovely 3d model we found on the web and my old friend put this 3d concept together to size of how much space the smart would take up in a 40 foot container.
Imagine if you will then that you had all that space to play with, what would you have? A kitchen, a computer room? Maybe you could buy a bunch of these and some land in Spain or Portugal somewhere remote and have a steemian village that you ran in an airbnb way? Maybe you could setup as a haulage company dedicated to building and shipping the whole thing, driving your 500 mile range Tesla semi in a digital nomad style from your country across the sea via ferry and into Europe!
You could do the whole package! Design the box, style it, have a car in there that fit (smart is perfect) you could even go ‘electric’ car to ease the shipping and border regulations regarding ‘cars’ etc, imagine delivering your actual house to the end location when you got there and stopping along the way to blog and document the journey, imagine the amazing conversations you would have along the way.
Of course, this is just a pipe dream, but it’s important to dream and dream big especially because the more you put things into the universe the more these ideas can become reality — I’d love nothing more to become my own ‘all in one nomadic locations designer, builder and courier’ of location agnostic shipping containers that needs to be moved around a country to fixed locations for periods of time — be a hell of an experience?
Don’t you agree?! :)
