Good Evening community
So growing up in the 2000s Browser-based games were at the "peak" of their lifecycle at least I think so anyway.
Being born in 2000 and getting A laptop around 2008 ish I played A ton of Browser-based games which I loved so much they were the reason I got into gaming.
Despite all the amazing games out there right now I can't help but feel these old browser-based games still have A place in today's world.
This is where Hive and Blockchain technology comes in.
It gives us an endless opportunity.
Community funded It is much easier for the community to get more involved with development and funding when on the blockchain.
Freedom We have the freedom to create whatever we want.
Remember the club penguin game? That game once was the go-to game for children It was simple to play and very easy to run with it being browser-based.
Disney Interactive had shut it down claiming the game was extremely unpopular however this was thrown into question when fans demanded A remake and eventually several unofficial club penguin games where released that gained huge popularity.
Disney shut this game down to make way for its successor, Club Penguin Island which flopped and was also shut down within A year.
But with blockchain technology could something like this be built up again?
The pros
Easier crowdfunding for the game to survive
Freedom and decentralised
The cons
popularity
expensive and very difficult work for "small dev teams"
I'm not just talking about club penguin I am talking about all those browser-based games you used to play as A kid.
If you could have any one game you grew up with playing what would it be and why?
In fact, Bin Weevils which was very similar to club penguin was A game that survived whilst all these games shut down however the ending of adobe flash meant that Bin weevils had come to an end and was Discontinued (since 16 January 2021)
Thanks for reading.
