Have you seen what's new on the campaign page of Itínera Theater's crowdfunding campaign? Oh yes, even though it may seem unlikely, there are in fact new things going on, almost every day, so it's worth checking in periodically. This time it has to do with the perks: If you scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page, you will notice two new items: A donation of €1,200 we are going to reward with one of the puppets you saw in our campaign video, and for a donation of €1,500 you can even get your own personalized puppet of the same type.
Get Your Little Version of Stef, Julia, or Manu to Play With at Home!
Did you like the puppets in our video? Would you also like to have one? Since they've served us so well, and in the process have become such iconic representations of the founding members of our theater association, we decided to offer them up as perks for really big donations. But does that mean that each of them is only available once? What if one of them is more popular than the others? Let's say, there are two donors who pledge €1.2k, but both of them want Julia (hope-hope)? Not a thing to worry about! After all, we have also grown quite attached to our puppets, so parting with them is not our intention. Instead, we would have a brand new Julia (or Manu, or Stef) made by the same Taller Hermanos Castro in Colombia, as our own puppets.
Have a Fully Personalized Puppet Made According to Your Own Characteristics
What did you think about how well our puppets represent us? Would you be maybe interested in having one made that looks just like you? Or your partner? Or your children? Or any fictional character? To anyone who wants to support our project with a donation of €1,500 we want to send a very special reward: a completely personalized puppet, of the same style and size as the ones you saw in our video. The limits here are simply reasonable practicality. Anything within that framework is possible, from the color of the puppets hair, skin, eyes, to their hairstyle, and additional features, such as tattoos or glasses, and even peg-legs or scissor-hands are not too outrageous to include. The Taller Hermanos Castro are a creative bunch, and happy to accommodate any special wishes, as long as they are within the confines of reason.
Isn't a Thousand Bucks Way Too Much for a Puppet (not to mention €uros)?
Before the huge outcry, let me address this very valid concern: Yes, it absolutely is! However, it's important to keep one thing in mind: donating is not shopping! Your money is going first and foremost towards our project (yes, that Cultural Eco-Center, remember? The first fully autonomous theater in the world). Everything else, such as paying for the crowdfunding platform, paying Itínera members for their hard work, buying food for our volunteers, as well as buying and shipping perks around the globe, are only additional expenses. Looking at the other perks you'll find the same trend: €250 for a T-shirt? €500 for a poster? Are we crazy??? No, and we are not kidding either! But then again, we are not selling stuff, we are raising funds!
What If Someone Can't Donate That Much But Still Would Like a Puppet?
No worries, we are here to help! After all, we are artists who support and collaborate with other artists. This includes the Colombian Taller Hermanos Castro, whose puppetry workshop we would like to promote as much as we can. So if you want one of our puppets, or your personalized one, or any other cool puppet, please do not hesitate to check out these great craftsmen! We are happy to answer any questions and even mediate with the workshop in case of communication problems. That way having a fully personalized puppet made should cost you maybe a tenth of the donation we are asking for. So please, feel no shame for not being able to contribute financially, just contact the puppetry shop, order your puppet, and feel free to tell us about it!
Because, as we all know, it's not the donation that helps us most (though we appreciate every Euro we get), but the sharing of our campaign. So please, tell all your friends about us, and tell them to tell their friends too. That way maybe someone with deeper pockets gets to see our campaign too! And in the meantime, if you decide to get our perks directly from their craftsmen, we are more than happy about it.
