'A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles. - Tim Cahill
It´s rather determined by the people and their stories you come to know, since every person you will ever meet in life knows something you don´t.
Honestly, isn´t the social aspect the most exciting, fulfilling and valuable part of all experiences?
Aren´t mutual engagement and support, knowledge transfer and inspiration, integrity, loyalty and trust the core benefits of any project, plan or vision?
If you are new to steemit and need some orientation, here is one possible way to go.
Be Legendary
A couple of weeks ago I´ve started to focus my curating activity on newcomers.
First of all, I´ve been amazed by the creativity and power a lot of them already transmitted in their introduction posts. Most of them already know what they gonna blog about on steemit, thus they´ve already defined their niche right from the start.
To the ones who don´t know how to begin, here is one ultimate advice: Be yourself.
Authenticity is one of the most appreciated social skills. That one can´t be done by bots.
Besides your unique profile there is one more essential requirement on your way to become a successful blogger: HARD WORK.
6 steps how to improve your blogging success on steemit:
- Study successful content an their authors (visit the trending page) and learn from them.
- Find your niche. Provide something others don´t. Be unique. Be legendary.
- Create content others can´t skip. Steve Jobs: 'Be so good they can´t ignore you.'
- Be social. Engange, connect, upvote, comment, reblog, discuss, ask and reply.
- Be curious and willing to improve. You´ll learn from failure not from success.
- WRITE, READ, CURATE, EAT, SLEEP, REPEAT.
PS: The most important one of all is no. 3 :) Why? Because:
Everybody wants to be somebody
In a world where youtubers, bloggers and snapchatters are recognized professional categories, everybody can become somebody over night.
However, a widespread misunderstanding in that context is that spotlight is not preceded by hard work. Many people believe that once they have opened a YouTube channel they´re going to be famous, that once they have signed up to steemit they are going to earn a lot of money.
Money follows passion.
If you wanna know how true passion sounds and looks like, than I highly recommend you to watch this video. There you can look into the burning eyes of Steemit Inc´s new Marketing VP @zurvanic (Mitchell) and the new Community Liaison @andrarchy (Andrew).
To be honest, I think I fall in love a little bit with anyone who shows true enthusiasm for something. I adore sportsmen for their uncompromising will to win, I admire aid agents for their unstoppable desire to help, I generally fall for people that are on fire.
Your initial success on steemit is rather measured by your social bonds than by your wallet. Money follows excellence.
One of the advantages the platform provides is its independency from any centralized institution or regulation. There are not limits to excellence.
Whatever the niche might be you are willing to occupy, there won´t be any censorship impeding your creativity. That´s why I highly recommend you to be adventurous. You´ve got nothing to lose. If plan A doesn´t work then B or C might do.
The only existing framework on steemit is your own capacity.
Max it out!
While I´ve been writing this blot post, I just hit the 600 followers mark. You guys have no idea how grateful I am for your continuous support, our valuable conversations and the shared FUN! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for your time and attention, I hope you enjoyed the read and found it somehow inspiring. To come full circle, I´ll leave you with one of my favourite songs called 'Legendary'.
Marly -
Welshy Arms - 'Legendary'
Cause we´re gonna be legends
Gonna get their attention
What we´re doing here ain´t just scary
It´s about to be legendary
Been dreaming of the payoff
Through the struggles and the trade-offs
Write in truth heading on the way up
Tell them the truth but they think it´s just made up
