Kenya 🇰🇪 is gearing up to construct a $13.8 billion high speed electric railway connecting its Lamu Port to Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and South Sudan 🇸🇸

Construction is expected to begin in 2025, covering 3,000 km and forming part of the $22 billion LAPSSET corridor.

The project will entail the following:

1. A port at Manda Bay, Lamu, Kenya;
2. A standard gauge railway line to Juba in South Sudan and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia;
3. Road network;
4. Oil pipelines (Southern Sudan and Ethiopia);
5. An oil refinery at Bargoni, Kenya;
6. Three airports;
7. Three resort cities.
