EOSAsia Block Producer (BP) has proposed a Multisig to add a smart contract to the network account eosio.savings that will allow the network to distribute funds directly to EOS Programs & Organizations. The Code has been released and the proposal is currently gathering community support. The proposal needs 15/21 BPs approvals to pass. It is currently sitting at 12.
Imagine if Pomelo Crowdfunding Platform or EOS Yields Program or Eden DAO could get funding directly from the network, rather than having to request funding each time from the Foundation. It’s a long awaited feature in the community and the EOS Network Foundation also supports the initiative.
If approved and deployed, the smart contract would allow EOS network to programmable allocate $EOS to community programs. It makes EOS more sustainable and it's good news for token holders and projects that need support.
