Hi there folks! It’s been a very exhausting day for me. We actually had a meet-up a while ago with the Cebu Writers’ Guild in Soong 2, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. The discussion was really great as we have shared our experiences on steemit and even in life. After the roughly 4 hours talk with the guild members, I with @thian2817, @carlitojoshua, @ryanclaunan, and @steembytes decided to go to 10,000 Roses which is located at Day-As Cordova City, Cebu. It is actually 12 km/7.456 miles from Soong to Cordova, a not so far travel especially with good comrades.
We really had a great talk even inside the jeepney, a transporting vehicle that can accomodate 18 passengers, however “dead air” always comes in with the bumper to bumper traffic congestion! Hahah! So Viola! I got a chance to capture this view.
Woah! Looking at the photo alone seems to entice me and asking me to go out and play with the green grasses, feel the sun’s heat and enjoy the sea like view of the sky... Waaahhh!!! This is summer!. The place is calm, it’s clean, even like a virgin island! Can I say, it’s like another tourist spot here in the Philippines?
I’ll let you think for a moment, just think about words that would describe this place.
Do we also have the same descriptions? Do we have the same feeling by just merely watching the photo? Good! We’re having the same wavelength.
But what if, I’ll do this!
Does it give another sense?
While looking at that another edited photo, having dark and white shades of the same place, what comes into your mind right now?
Personally, while merely looking at this photo, it reminds me of my childhood memories where I don’t care about anything as long as I can play with my friends, laugh ‘til death, fight even, run as fast as flash, act like a superhero, and most of all we’re building friendship.
It saddened me, where are those days now?
It can also gives me a connotation that the place is dull, it’s sad, full of misery and grief. It’s like, it doesn’t have any life? Just a mere black and white life.
How about you? What can you say about the black and white photo? What feeling/emotions does it convey?
What’s my point?

We are now living instantly with the help of our advance technologies. I can even noticed that I haven’t noticed how I have manipulated my life and the surroundings that I am in by just simply editing my photos. And I think same goes to everyone!
I also want to point out that HUES found now in the different spectrum of technologies are not all TRUE! It’s sometimes coated with LIES just to convey the emotion or the story that we want to emphasize or we want to tell. I even got into the notion, that today, hues does not have standard meanings: when “green hue” signifies hope before but “green hue”will be different upon individuals now.
Sometimes, we even got to a sad point in our life that we keep on clicking “LOVE” and “LIKE” to our friends’ photos without even thinking about the story behind that photo and even without liking our OWN LIFE!
I hope this will serve as an awareness to all of us that life is greater than the photos we shared or the photos we’ve seen. Life is about collection of true memories which will always be stored in our minds. Take note: when those memories are stored in our minds, there is no EDITING TECHNOLOGY that can change it!
Going Back
None of the photos above have shown the real hues of the place. Again, I have edited those using the settings in my phone. Now, I’ll show to you the original photo.
I actually captured the place because I was not enticed by the place itself. I captured this to make some sort of an experiment as to how colours would affect our minds and emotions.
Do you have the same descriptions and emotions while looking at the different pictures or you’ve described them differently as to what you have seen? Please feel free to share your thoughts below.
I hope I have conveyed my message and thoughts appropriately.
Mayng Gabie!
