@Uyobong today marks 600 days on the Steem Blockchain. My account was created on the 24th Day of January, 2018 and Today is September 24 (barely 20 months).
Looking back to where I started the Steem journey and where I am currently breeds reasons to be grateful down inside my heart. My growth within this blockchain became quite easy with the help of communities which I got involved with. May I enlist some including:

- @Steemchurch/ @Sc-n
- @Oracle-d
- @Threespeak
Not only did these communities make awesome curation strides, I did actually engage the communities.
One virtue that seems to be lacking expecially with new steemians is te inability to engage their communities and the entire blockchain at large.
By engagement, I mean the several responsive activities we understake to curate, give value to blogs created by other users.
Engagement involves:
- Upvotes given to other users' blogs
- Comments made on other users' blogs and replies
- Resteems given to other users' blogs
It is rather sad that some users have not learnt the art of engaging other users' blogs, yet, they expect theirs to be curated.
Another crucial aspect of engageement is voting for witnesses. Witnesses are those who keep the Steem nodes running and they invest infrastrucutrally to enable us have a hitch free steeming experience. I have voted for 30 witnesses and do also have some users use my account as a voting proxy. A user like @Theycallmedan is also so particular with witness voting, and can also be used as a proxy.
Sadly, many steem users have casted even a single witnes vote. #Newsteem comes with change of atitude and this should be addressed.

Engaging the steem blockchain can also be in the form of encouraging developers and project owners who have put in their skills to build apps that give us varieties on the blockchain.
Steem blockchain has over 400 DApps built on it. I have been able to use as much as 30 DApps built on the Steem blockchain as well as Steem-engine and 4 SCOT tribes. If concerned about the secutity of your login details, posting key should be your limit.
I see that each time I use a new steem DApp, the experience is always so superb. This provides us with options incase a particular node is down.

I am curretly ranked #2644 on the steem blockchain as at the time of publishing this post. This rank is an accumulation of posts created, comments made, upvotes, payouts, resteems given as well as upvotes, replies and resteems received.
Even on @Threespeak, I am just 5 days old, but I have been able to scale to Rank 78 with 10 videos succcessfuly encoded. I'm hoping to reach the top 30 content creators in within my first 30 days on this platform.
Conclusion
It is pertinent that we understand that engaement is what keeps steem blockchain growing. We do not need a Million SP to engage. Let's help add value to one another's blog on this blockchain.
