Today I want to discuss a topic that I haven't discussed at all, Smart Pricing Google Adsense. So, what is "Smart Pricing"? Basically, Smart Pricing is a feature of Google AdSense that can reduce your revenue per click (CPC). So, if you have generated an average of $ 0.75 per click for a long time, and then suddenly you find a decrease of only $ 0.01 per click, you can be sure your AdSense account might have been hit by smart pricing. I want to discuss in detail why this is happening and how to avoid smart pricing on your niche site.
To understand what "Smart Pricing" really is, you need to understand in terms of advertisers. Ads displayed on your site through Google Adsense come from advertisers who bid based on relevant keywords. Google's main income comes from these advertisers so they are very concerned about the satisfaction of these advertisers. Therefore, if the clicks that advertisers get from your site are not converted into sales on the advertiser's website, they will immediately stop the ads.
If they stop advertising, Google will lose money. So, to keep advertisers "not running away", Google will drastically reduce the costs that advertisers have to pay on publisher websites that are not converted into sales for advertisers. This decrease means less money for you than clicking on Google Adsense. In other words, if your website does not perform well for advertisers, you are at risk of getting "smart pricing" or even worse your Google AdSense will be disabled.
So, there are often lots of website publishers or bloggers who complain about this smart pricing problem, but if you target keywords, relevant and quality content - you might not have to worry. Advertiser Conversion Rate
Basically, the main reason Google will reduce the amount of revenue per click is that ads on your site do not produce any results for advertisers. I have explained this above from both Google Adsense and Google Adwords. Obviously, how effective advertisers are in writing advertisements, how to optimize their landing pages, and other factors beyond your control will affect conversion rates. However, Google will not punish you for poorly written advertisements or other things that you cannot control.
But there are things that you can control. You can control:
• Traffic sources to your site
• How to target quality and relevant content
• The ratio of your ad clicks
• And how your ads work relevant
Take control of your traffic sources
Organic traffic from natural search engines is best viewed! I always build my site as optimally as possible to get a good ranking in search engines, and this traffic is my main source. However, if you drive traffic to your site using other methods such as forums, e-mails, blog comments, social media or other methods, it is very likely that income is smaller than targeted. Visitors who have just visited your site are less likely to convert from visitors who actively search for and find your site based on relevant content. If you are like me and are building sites that target specific keywords and are targeting Google rankings for these keywords, then you might have gotten traffic from search engines and might have a little worry. This is why keyword research is the most important and most difficult part of building a niche-based website.
Produce relevant and targeted content
Relevant content, and what is targeted is certainly clear, but some sites struggle with this. I say that for niche sites, you must be very strict in your choice of keywords and target certain keywords, especially on your site. Use Allow & Block Ad Options
However, there are other steps to ensure you get the most relevant ads on your site. You can use the Allow & Block Ads option in an Adsense account. I would recommend using this method in the default settings unless you are sure that you have smart price. At that time, I would recommend experimenting with some of these options to try and get your click value back.
You can turn off Interest Based Preferences, Third Party Ad Preferences, and Social Ad Preferences under Advanced Settings. Google Adsense rules are very complicated and you have to set your own ad categories that are appropriate for each of your articles, but basically this allows you to control the types of advertisements and sources of advertisements displayed on your site.
You can even be more specific by blocking all ad categories as well. Before you start turning off all categories that don't suit your website, you should consider that Google has a complex formula formed in it to display re-targeting ads for users who might have been looking for something from your site before.
So, Google may display ads related to "Used Cars" for visitors looking for car files even though your site is about "Cuisine Recipes". Google's retargeting formula has calculated that these visitors tend to click on ads related to "Used Cars" because of their previous searches. So, it's not an easy decision to determine a category or advert to turn off. This is why I strongly recommend changing the default Google AdSense settings for those of you who are exposed to smart pricing.
Remove Adsense Ads
Another option you can try to avoid smart pricing on your Adsense account is not to place Adsense ads from poorly performing sites. If you only have a few sites, I would recommend removing adsense from one of your sites and letting it be installed on other sites that are more niche-like. By testing removing Adsense from the site one by one, you may be able to find out which sites are potentially smart pricing and not profitable for you.
Overall, Smart Pricing is far less likely to occur if you do the right keyword research, build relevant content, and most of the traffic comes from search engines. However, if your Google Adsense account has been affected by Smart Pricing, I hope that this guideline will be useful.
