So once again as I was scrolling up and down on my Facebook News Feed, I stumbled upon a post by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines telling the general public the difference between a brownou/blackout and a power-interruption.

Well I do have an idea before on the difference between blackout and brownout on one of our electronics subject back in college, but meh I forgot what our instructor told us. XD
Anyway here's the difference according to NGCP:

Source: NGCP Facebook Page
BROWNOUT = There is still electricity, but weak!
BLACKOUT = Loss of electricity in a large area.
POWER INTERRUPTION = Loss of electricity in a specific area, usually maintenance
Well for years now, I honestly just thought that the media just say Power Interruption to make them look more smart and classy lol Turns out Power Interruption really is the correct technical term. I would still call it brownout/blackout though seeing that is only 2 syllables compared to the correct term's 6 syllables. XD
