With the heavy rain washing away the summer dust yesterday afternoon, the earth smells fresher, and the plants greener. So Yongi and I took advantage of it earlier today and camped outside after the hubby cut the grass.
The Lil Guy was so pleased, of course. The scent of the grass was nice to the nostrils, he couldn't stop sniffing here and there.

As usual, he felt so comfortable, slumped on the grassy ground, and gave me this look while I was snapping some photos of him.

We had a large umbrella to shade us from the scorching heat because I didn't want more sunburns. The LilGuy enjoyed his moments under it.

While there, a sudden thought came to mind. We should grow a tree so that in the years to come, one can enjoy its shade and wouldn't need an umbrella (unless it's raining). I was also reminded of what I read not so long ago, which said planting a tree is one of the best legacies we can leave behind us. And I think it is true. So maybe we can have a few cypress or some fruit-bearing trees.
Anyways, we had a lovely, laid-back time, letting time pass us by, savoring the goodness of nature. My companion was sweet as always. Perhaps he wanted a cuddle, so he placed his face (head) between my feet.

One might think he is laughing in this pic, but he is just yawning. The hot weather makes him sleepy, he yawns a lot, lol!

"My eyes are heavy!" he seems to be saying in this pic, lol!

Yet he stayed awake, observing, sensing, listening, and most importantly, keeping me company. We were mostly quiet, grateful for the time bestowed upon us by the Heavens to appreciate the gifts of the earth that we sometimes take for granted.

We should have more such simple, pleasurable moments. They are good not only for the body, but also for the soul. And we don't even have to go far or spend a penny. (A note to self)
