Today I made a trip to the mountain overlooking Bogotá called Monserrate.
It is one of the most popular sights of Bogotá with a great view of Colombia's capital. You go up there either by a train called funicular or by cable car, but that one was closed today.
Montserrate is also a popular destinaton for pilgrims. Some of them climb all the way up to the church of El Señor Caído ("The Fallen Lord").
Metal sculptures show the stations of the cross of Jesus Christ.
The sign in the back in the following picture says "Keep this space tidy". So corpses should be removed.
Monserrate is definitely worth a visit. On my last visit to Bogotá in December it rained a lot so I could not go. I am glad I made it this time.
