Another bus journey - this time, to Amritsar
Amritsar, is well known for The Golden Temple(Harmandar Sahab), and The Jallian Wala Bagh.
Both the place hold a very important role in Indian heritage.
While Shri Harmandar Sahab, is the sacred shrine for the Sikh Religion. The Jallian wala bagh has a major part in India's struggle for freedom, as this is where Shaheed Bhagat Singh, decided that he'll revolt against the oppressing East India Company's rule in India.
Here is a the treat for your eyes,
The Golden Temple is unique in many ways, Just to list a few:
- It is built below the ground level, which shows humility of human beings.
- It has entrances in all 4 directions, which signifies that it's doors are open for everyone without any discrimination.
- Its Foundation was laid by a Muslim Saint Sai Mian Mir in 1589 A.D.
I always feel very peaceful at Gurudwaras, however, it was totally another level of calmness I felt within me after coming here...
I hope to visit there again and this time I'll be visiting more places and with a better camera...
