Bath in Blue Lagoon was a unique experience but our mind was occupied from the question "where this water comes from?". It is really amazing that Iceland is the only country in the world that can claim to obtain 100% of its electricity and heat from renewable sources so a visit to such a hot spring was a must. We left from Blue lagoon taking few pics more
After a short drive landscape started to take an orange-yellow color sth which means we got closer to sulfur source. One of the 600 hot spring area was close.
Actually you can even smell it and of course when you walk in the area odor is so tense that you must cover your nose, see what i mean :-)
Scenery is from another planet and cool for a movie BUT be careful as there are areas where everything is extremely hot and there is a risk of burns
As night was coming (night in Iceland during May is around 23.00) we decided to depart. On our road to Reykjavik we saw a beautiful lake where we stopped for half an hour to relax and enjoy this tranquility. We were all alone watching this amazing scenery. Have to say that this season tourists are not so many so you can find yourself driving alone in a vast area. Bear in mind that Iceland has only around 400000 inhabitants!!
Part 2 ends here, hope you love my e-journey to Iceland ...... photos from the capital city and famous Golden Circle will follow and of course glaciers etc
