Madeira is a rather small island, just two smaller than Ilfov County, so wherever you go you see the ocean. Almost all the houses, all the hotels, all the routes have "ocean view", the island gives you views of the view, one more beautiful one.
And because the locals know they have an eye-catching island, they have arranged a lot of belvedere places called balcões (miraculous cliffs) or panorama (panoramic stops). They are marked with tourist signs and you can find them all the way, where you do not even expect. If you want to enjoy the most beautiful places with a view of Madeira, you can use my list to go to the fixed or you can explore the island at will and follow the signs whenever you see them.
I had a few saved on the Google Maps map on the phone or marked with the pen on the physical map, but most of them I discovered by accident, driving on the principle of "Look at a Miradioro, go there!"
On a rock with a super-view, Balcões Ribeiro Frio on her name, is a hoop where many colorful birds resemble the sparrows. The evening before we got there I searched Instagram for pictures of the area and I saw that birds, even though they are wild and in their natural environment, are very friendly with the tourists going up to Balcões. It's spectacular, the view to Ribeira da Metade is very photogenic, you have to go there but not before eating a fresh trout in the valley at the Ribeiro Frio restaurant. Put on the GPS "Ribeiro Frio" and you'll understand what I'm saying.
Achadas da Cruz
The place was recommended to me by a native from the first day. He surrounded me on the map and told me it was a very steep cliff and that they could descend to the sea with a sort of cable car and that down there I would not know what gardens. As we arrived, we arrived at Achadas da Cruz in the west of the island on a very steep asphalt road, we found a cable car and only two tourists and a nearby grocer-restaurant. When we leaned to the railing to see the view, some of us did not give names, their feet were softened and we decided not to take the cable car down, it was too steep.
The nearby little house has a wooden terrace that reminded me of the chalets in the Alps - it's a great place to drink a coffee with a view. We would also have eaten something, we were lazy, but the inside smelled dubiously, so we put our lust in the nail and we were courageous to get down with the last cable car to the ocean. The ticket costs 2 or 3 Euro / person / return. Cable cabin descent is very strange if you have high damage, but you have an alternative - you can take the route to the foot. There is no employee in the cabin, no responsibility, so you have to take instructions and press buttons to get up and down.
I will continue the adventure ,thanks for visit 😉
