⚫️Worst customs on Croatian Wedding day⚫️
When the wedding is in question, everyone has his own opinion. Or you love them, or not, but it's certain that there are some rules to be followed when the wedding is in question. It's a day of young people who swear on the eternal love that is sealed with the treaty, but it's also a day for families and friends who are looking forward to having a happy couple.
Weddings in Croatia are often very traditional and typical, so Here are a few "required" scenarios without which almost no wedding in Croatia can pass.
First, before the ceremony itself, friends and family gather. So, usually, the woman's side is wearing all morning, dressing, puting make up ... while the male side is usually cured of rakia or bevanda from the early morning. Forget about sleep and sobriety, because this pace will last until the next day.
Another very "popular" custom is to "buy" the bride. The music comes , and when the groom comes to the bride, he usually gets "guilty" of the guilt, and then the "right" is bought and proven. Tradition comes from the custom that the man is the head of the house and that he is able to take care of his family.
When we bought the bride, the whole parade is coming to the church. Some have only a ritual, while the larger religious fanatics have the whole mass, which certainly is not for the likes of the younger guests.
Dinner always begins with the blessing of food, and the first in the order is soup. Not everyone's favorite, but such is a tradition. Food at weddings is important. After the soup, there is a fried steak, roasting, gnocchi, wedding cake at midnight, followed by roast lamb and ginger, and finally goulash.
So, guests are happy - and then everyone can dance to the dance floor. We all know the script. First brides, then parents, all of which leads the band from the stage. Funny domestic hits are always played on weddings that were played 20-30 years ago. Hit was a hit, and on the repertoire Mišo Kovač, Jasmin Stavros, Mladen Grdović, Dražen Zečić, along with the old Magazin, Severin a and Rozga, and the folk with the unavoidable Halid Bešlić and "The First Kiss".
The parade continues with the men who love the gown, and the "lucky ones" who have captured all the features then appear to be next to the line.
Everything is fine if a "coincidentally" couple is chosen, but it gets uncomfortable when this is not the case, and some unknown lucky guy who catches the gown slams the god who caught the bouquet under the dress.
This is summary of most usual tradition in Croatia. What is customs in your country?
