I have heard before that the Scottish skies are very dark at night and they were not kidding.
As we sat having our dinner in a lovely little restaurant called bar rio we sat admiring the view of the collesium up in the hills. The restaurant served the best pies I have ever tasted and the pastrt was both creative and beautifully made.
But it wasnt until we stepped outside that we captured the real dark essence of Oban by night. It is really spectacular to see such dark skies. Apparently there is a place on the boarders that people go to just to see the dark skies. Its called galloway forest park.
Unfortunatley though its 3 hours away from oban but i would have loved to experience that.
