#1 Living in Djibouti, Africa | Part 1 (10 Photos) by @joshman
Djibouti is one of those countries you've probably never heard of. It's tiny in size, and has about 1 million total population. It's located in the horn of Africa at where the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden meet. It is bordered by Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia. Over half of that population is in the capital, Djibouti City. They mainly consist of the Afar people associated with Ethiopia, and the Issa people associated with Somalia. Also many ethnic Arabs live there, along with American, French, Japanese, Italian, and Chinese expats, who all have military bases in Djibouti.

#2 My Sublime & Beautiful Sunday. 'Moondarewa Spit.' by @trudeehunter
Last week I shared images from Southport, on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. This is Part 11, as the Spit is situated close by and I enjoyed taking in the beauty of the surroundings and the warmth of the sun, even though it is the middle of winter here. The Spit consists of a 5km long, sandy isthmus which begins at Main Beach and finishes at the stretch of sea known as Broadwater where it greets the Pacific Ocean. This area comprises of public parkland and is a popular place for fishing, boating and relaxing. House boats are moored in a very sheltered part of the river.

Oltome (Ol-Toe-May) is one of the first words that I really learned in Maa. Elephant. What a beautiful creature. On our first game drive (safari) we did not see any oltome (elephants). We later learned that they were on the different side of the park (The Maasai Mara National Reserve)…. away from the very noisy wildebeest that had come in for the annual migration.
