The Tourism Visa Initiative is intended to revive a previous tourist visa system that allows visitors to discover new destinations in Arabia, to improve the tourism sector and to develop tourism services and cultural heritage facilities in the Kingdom.
The goal is also to create more employment for citizens and reduce the seasonal nature of international tourism on a religious basis during Umrah and Hajj.
This initiative is part of the 2020 National Transformation Program, and is within the framework of the commission's efforts to realize Vision 2030, which gives much attention to the tourism industry.
