Dear Steemit friends and followers,
Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, I would like to show you another impressive Czech castle, the Castle of Helfstyn.

Located some 15 km (9 mi) east of the town of Prerov in the Central Moravian Region of the country, the Helfstyn Castle is a large Gothic castle built in the early 14th century.
The whole castle complex is, with its huge size of 187 m (614 ft) long and 152 m (499 ft) wide, one of the largest castles in the country.

Perched on a forest-covered hill above the Becva River, the Helfstyn Castle has five gates and four courtyards.
Just like most other Czech castles, Helfstyn is also open to public.
A popular tourist attraction of the region, the castle hosts numerous festive events at its grounds, including theatrical performances, medieval balls, sword shows but most notably – an annual gathering of artistic blacksmiths known as Hefaiston.

Held each August since 1982, Hefaiston attracts artistic blacksmiths from all over the world, ranking among the world´s most important events of its kind. Visitors of the festival can watch the mastership of renowned blacksmiths and even buy their products.
