Here it is Tree Tuesday again and I don’t really have many tree photographs this week. The fall leaves are still abundant but I have been a bit of a slacker and didn’t do much photography. I was wanting to do something creative in 3D graphics but had a hard time motivating for that as well.
I did manage to get down to the park and practice disk golfing today. Most of my throws didn’t go very far because the disks got very wet from landing in the wet grass. The grass is really wet and muddy from the recent rains and my shoes are old and falling apart making it harder to throw the disk without face planting into the muck and my feet are feeling extra soggy. I wasn’t in the mood to wipe the water off the disks for some reason. Getting them at least a bit dry where you grip them helps a lot with your throwing though. My thoughts wander towards some of my friends who are struggling at work or have been recently laid off. My problems with wet grass seem trivial by comparison to many things.
Crypto trading was kind of lack luster too. I’m waiting hopefully for the end of the year rise that seems to be a historical trend of sorts. All this abysmal talk from some of the canonical news services about crypto bottoming out and never going higher again gets me kind of down. I don’t really believe that but who really knows. I think governments would benefit economically if they provided good regulations that were helpful in inspiring confidence in investors but so many places around the world seem to be having issues climbing aboard the crypto train so to speak.
Meanwhile, I’m mostly trading sideways and moving from one coin to another. Buying steem seems to be turning into a nasty habit of sorts, lol. Maybe I should turn to more speculation and less long term investment, but who knows. I still have a lot of faith that this platform will be one of my best investments in the long haul. I was surprised to see it listed among the top ten cryptocurrencies: In Chinas latest blockchain rankings.
Stellar is having a giveaway. Normally I would be jumping at the chance to get some free goodies. I guess I’ve got enough crypto so that I’m more interested in having what I do have go back up in value rather than spending more effort getting setup in a new wallet only to have the value go down after everyone cashes out the free coins before I do. I guess I’m getting a bit cynical in some ways plus I really hate giving my email out anywhere because I get so much spam and recently got an extortion attempt. (Some of them are actually pretty funny emails – I keep a collection of the best ones.) I will probably register for the giveaway but knowing how fast I move with these things there might not be anything left, lol.
Oh, and a while back I almost fell for one of those doubling scams where some famous person or institution offers to give all their best customers twice the ETH in return for sending in some payment to an address. It actually looked kind of legitimate with a count down counter showing the pool of cash going down from payments made to all the happy shrills who wrote in claiming this was the best thing since sliced bread, complete with authentic looking blockchain transactions. The minimum payment they wanted was a bit more than I could easy scrounge off the exchanges so I was thinking of moving some coins from my wallet before the pool of cash was gone.
Then I got to thinking, “WTF? Nobody is going to give you back twice the amount of ETH you pay to them. I guess when I got older someone must have put a sign on my backside with the words, ‘IS STUPID’ written on it.” So I saved my ETH and just kind of sheepishly closed the browser. Recently I read an article that kind of makes me feel pretty good I walked away from that coin giveaway; doubling scams like that are pretty common as a quick search on the net will reveal.
But I digress. Getting back to Tree Tuesday here’s the obligatory photo of a tree leaf I took today:
Here’s a photo of some recent tree leaf colors by the start of the disk golf course:
Here’s a photo of the basket that you throw the disk golf disks into. This was taken a while ago and happens to have photographic evidence of my favorite disk that is still being held hostage by the city workers in the baseball field sign. Maybe if I bribed them with donuts they would give it back to me. (Just kidding, I threw the disk into the sign by accident and it is still stuck way up high there.)
In any case I had a great day today and it is always fun to post something for #TreeTuesday as hosted by @old-guy-photos. As I look back over what I’ve written it sounds like I’m kind of complaining a bit but really I’m feeling pretty good this evening. I know things will work out and whatever is best shall be.
