Trees have always been a profound part of my life, ever since my earliest childhood memories. I remember climbing them, finding shade under them, hugging them and admiring their sheer beauty. They have always been there for me to provide wisdom, strength and courage. Trees have nurtured my soul, healed my wounds and always remind me of what unconditional love truly is. Today I'd like to share my love of trees with the #steemit community through a series of photos and writings iv'e collected over the years.
We never look deeply into the quality of a tree; we never really touch it, feel its solidity, its rough bark, and hear the sound that is part of the tree. Not the sound of wind through the leaves, not the breeze of a morning that flutters the leaves, but its own sound, the sound of the trunk and the silent sound of the roots.

When you live in the shadow of a big tree, you have to run twice as fast to get into the sunlight.
~Leonard Lauder
I looked up my family tree and found out I was the sap.
Rodney Dangerfield
The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity... and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.
William Blake
Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don't see what goes on underground - as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don't see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree.
Joyce Meyer
A woodland in full color is awesome as a forest fire, in magnitude at least, but a single tree is like a dancing tongue of flame to warm the heart.
~Hal Borland
Just touching that old tree was truly moving to me because when you touch these trees, you have such a sense of the passage of time, of history. It's like you're touching the essence, the very substance of life.

The universe is an example of love. Like a tree. Like the ocean. Like my body. Like my wheelchair. I see the love. ~Ram Dass
