Hoy me llevo nuevamente a la reflexión; una reflexión que, como siempre, quiero compartir con ustedes, mis amigos. Últimamente, he estado pensando si soy la única que pospone sus cosas, por priorizar a veces la de los demás y es que el pensamiento que me llega son cosas como: "por ahora es el momento de mi hija, hijo, esposo, madre, hasta de los gatos..." ja, ja, ja y así he ido haciendo por un largo tiempo, sé que en muchas cosas debo poner atención por y para mí; pero en otras debo admitir es mi falta de compromiso conmigo misma y que solo cuando el cuerpo se queja o las emociones y sentimientos se desbordan hago una parada. Y me centro en lo que yo necesito y que ninguna otra persona puede hacer por mí, si no lo hago yo misma. Muchas veces caemos en temporadas, donde tendemos a procrastinar, eso que no da bienestar, tanto físico como emocionalmente, y no nos damos cuenta del daño que nos hacemos con esta falta de atención para con nosotros mismos. A veces empezamos por ejemplo a hacer ejercicios y vamos muy animados, nos compramos los implementos necesarios para ello, si no podemos ir a un gimnasio, como en mi caso y con el paso de los días, vamos delegando esa hora de ejercicios, porque tenemos que hacer cosas en casa o atender a los hijos, marido y no nos damos ese momento único para nosotros. Pero pensándolo bien, en ocasiones son solo excusas, pues nuestro tiempo es de nosotros y, por lo tanto, nosotros decidimos cómo emplearlo. En otras posponemos esa tarde de café con algún amigo, porque según nosotros "no tenemos tiempo" y volvemos a caer en lo mismo, en las excusas. Sin darnos cuenta del mal, que nosotros mismos nos estamos haciendo, pues de nuestra cuenta depende nuestro propio bienestar, no de lo demás. Llegué a casa superrelajada, con cero estrés y más que dispuesta a seguir con mis rutinas cotidianas, aunque ese día mis hijos cocinaron, mi esposo llegó de su trabajo, hizo la cena y me encontró relajada y todo fluyó divinamente. De hecho, me dijo que debía hacerlo más a menudo, salir a caminar, hablar con otras personas y consentirme de vez en cuando, pues vio el cambio en mi día y que fue para bien para mí y para los demás en casa. Entonces, desde ese día que no fue hace mucho, decidí aplicarme en lo que me produce bienestar. Retomé mis ejercicios, ahora trato de salir más a menudo a caminar, llamé a mis amigas y ya tengo citas con ellas pendientes por cumplir y que espero honrar, porque me di cuenta esto me ayuda a relajarme a sentir y entender de mejor forma, que yo también soy importante y que debo priorizarme para estar bien y brindar mi mejor versión a los demás. Lately, I have been wondering if I am the only one who puts things off, sometimes prioritizing others over myself. Thoughts like these come to mind: “Right now is the time for my daughter, son, husband, mother, even the cats...” Ha, ha, ha, and I've been doing this for a long time. I know that in many things I should pay attention to myself, but in others I must admit that it is my lack of commitment to myself, and that only when my body complains or my emotions and feelings overflow do I stop. And I focus on what I need and what no one else can do for me if I don't do it myself. We often fall into periods where we tend to procrastinate, which is not good for our physical or emotional well-being, and we don't realize the damage we are doing to ourselves with this lack of attention to ourselves. Sometimes, for example, we start exercising and we are very enthusiastic, we buy the necessary equipment, if we can't go to a gym, as in my case, and as the days go by, we delegate that hour of exercise because we have to do things at home or take care of the children, our husband, and we don't give ourselves that unique moment for ourselves. But when we think about it, sometimes these are just excuses, because our time is ours and, therefore, we decide how to use it. Other times, we postpone that afternoon coffee with a friend because, according to us, “we don't have time,” and we fall back into the same trap of excuses. Without realizing the harm we are doing to ourselves, because our own well-being depends on us, not on others. I decide for myself what to do and what not to do. So, accepting this reality, I started to treat myself, so I made an appointment with myself, without companions, without witnesses; I went for a walk to look at shop windows, to have a delicious coffee, and on the way I came across some beautiful sandals, so I bought them. I had wanted to eat a delicious chicken dish that is very famous in my city for a long time, but it was a bit expensive. I went and bought my portion of chicken with French fries and sat alone among many people. I felt strange, but happy. My date was going wonderfully, ha ha ha. The result? I came home super relaxed, with zero stress and more than willing to continue with my daily routines. Although that day my children cooked, my husband came home from work, made dinner, and found me relaxed, and everything flowed beautifully. In fact, he told me that I should do it more often, go for walks, talk to other people, and pamper myself from time to time, because he saw the change in my day and that it was good for me and for everyone else at home. So, since that day, which was not long ago, I decided to focus on what makes me feel good. I resumed my exercise routine, now I try to go out for walks more often, I called my friends and I already have plans with them that I hope to honor, because I realized that this helps me relax, feel, and understand better that I am also important and that I must prioritize myself in order to be well and give my best to others.
