Starting end of October 2023, we update the way to calculate the points for the CTPSB ranking.
Why a ranking?
In order to define who to support, the CTPSB project always used a kind of ranking. We have updated the way to calculate points because of market conditions and to avoid abuse.
What is included in the ranking?
The ranking include several components and the points will come from three sources:
- assets
- interaction
- content
Let's look at these different components to understand how the ranking is built.
Asset points
We will take into account the following assets for the ranking:
- The amount of owned CTPSB tokens
- The owned Gold and Collector NFT's (Check this link to learn about our NFT's and how to link your Hive wallet with your wax wallet).
Each of these assets will contribute with equal weight to the score according to their value in USD. For each asset, you can get a maximum amount of points. This cap is put in place so that people who have a huge position in one asset don't have an undue advantage.
If the threshold is set at 100 $ for example, each asset can give you a maximum of 100 points. The level of this threshold is not fix and might be adapted over time.
Interaction points
We plan to create some challenges. In the context of these challenges, we will give interaction points to people. Such points can also be given for comments on our posts. If we really like a comment, we might give some points to the author.
Content points
The third component of this ranking will be the content quality. Every month, we ask people who want to, to submit a post. This post needs to have been created within the same month and needs to be written in English. The person is free to chose the post that he wants to submit. We will then rate the submitted content.
To rate the content, every post will start with the maximum points. We might then deduct points for the following things:
- Low quality title
- Missing picture
- Short post of less than 300 words
- Plagiarism or usage of AI to create content
- Missing sources for images and quotations
- Missing subtitles
- Content lacking to give added value
- Spelling and structure that makes the content difficult to understand
We then compare the quality of this post with the other posts of the author. If the quality is more or less similar between the submitted post and the other ones, we will multiply the content points by 1. If however the quality spread is very high, especially in the case of low effort posts, we will multiply the content points by 0.5.
If the author doesn't submit a post in a given month, we will take 50% of the content points from the previous month.
The score
The score of each person, will be calculated as follows:
(Points from NFT's + Points from CTPSB + Interaction Points + 1) x Content Points
With this formula, people will only be taken into the ranking if they submit a post. As mentioned above, people who don't submit a post in a given month will still be in the ranking because they will have 50% of the content points of the previous month. As long as the submitted a post before.
When will the ranking be published
We will try to create a post to ask for people to submit their content around 10 days before the end of a month. They then have 6 days to submit an url of a Hive post. After that we create the ranking for the month. This ranking will define who will get supported by the project during the month to come.
Disclaimer to avoid conflicts and justifications
The idea of this ranking is not to criticize people in public and to explain why they lost some points. Therefore, we will not give the details of the points in the rankings. We want to push people to try to create the best content possible and to chose which of their posts illustrates what they are capable of. However, we also want people to follow this project and support it. In the end the potential of our support is linked to that.
We hope that with this ranking we are able to reach this target but if things don't turn out the way we planned, we might change some things in the future.

If you are in the top places of the ranking, we will set you on the curation trail of the @ctpsb account. You will get a maximum of 1 upvote per day. Upvotes are given only if the curation account has enough voting power.
Can I be excluded from the ranking?
In certain cases, it's possible that people can be taken out of the ranking and thereby they would lose the support. An example can be if you publish content that is not your own or if your content is constantly downvoted.
Are the best placed people in the ranking getting more support?
No, all the people up to a certain rank will get the same support. The people below this rank won't get supported. This threshold rank is defined each month according to the available Hive Power on the curation account.
