Hey guys!
Recently, I was drawn to rewatching my records of Agents of SHIELD season 4, beginning from episode 8. As I did, I was astonished at the number of characters that have come into the series and disappeared, without further word of their whereabouts, either because they were detained, just walked away, or were wrongfully presumed dead.
So, here a few!
1. Vijay Nadeer
One of those presumed dead, Vijay was last seen in an episode of season 4 where he displayed Inhuman powers and was killed for it by his own sister, Senator Elleen Nadeer. After being shot and for all purposes, killed, his body was taken to an unknown water body and dumped, tied to a sinking stone. However, on reaching the bottom, the body begins to reform into a husk, making him the first and only character to go through a second terrigenesis. Whether or not this means he's alive, and what it means as to his powers remain to be seen.
2. Shockley
Another Inhuman and an agent of the Watchdogs, Shockley was cast out after his transformation. His power to explode into gaseous form and reform himself however, meant SHIELD couldn't kill him or detain him in a traditional facility. Hence, he was sucked into a container that would prevent him from reforming and presumably, has remained there ever since. This was back in the middle of season 4.
3. Graviton in space
Glenn Talbot, aka Graviton was blasted into space by Daisy following the events of season 5 where his powers resulted in him going crazy and insatiably power hungry. However, given the nature of his powers, Graviton should be able to survive in space, and indeed does so in the comics. Whether or not this version of Graviton will return is yet to be seen. To be fair though, it's still quite early. Graviton was last seen in the finale of last season. However, in the world of SHIELD, it has been over a year, so...
4. Hunter and Bobbi, and Robin
Hunter and Bobbi left Agents in SHIELD in season 3 during the Inhuman crisis, but then last year, Hunter came back to help Fitz after all the other agents disappeared. After his mission, he left with the future-seeing inhuman Robin and has not been heard of again, paricularly as the agents encountered an aged, wrinkled version of Robin who was killed in the future they went to. However, the present version of Robin should still be alive was found by the agents when they returned. Yet, after the dystopian future she saw was changed successfully, her fate was not disclosed.
5. The Koenigs
The Koenig siblings were last seen in season 4 during the retrieval of the Darkhold. Agent J.T Koenig, the oldest sibling who was introduced in that episode went into hiding with her brothers Agent Sam, Agent Billy and Dustin (I think), the only one of the Koenigs who isn't an agent of SHIELD. In that same episode it was confirmed once and for all that the identical Koenigs were not clones or LMDs, but normal quadruplets. They haven't been seen since, and may or may be part of the reformed SHIELD.
6. Melty Inhuman
Joey Guiterrez never got an official code name so he was always just Joey, the inhuman who could melt and reform metal. However his stint with SHIELD was brief. After he (and all inhumans on the team) were suspected of working with Hive (the real mole turned out to be Daisy), he left the agency.
7. Ghost Rider
Perhaps I should have led with this. Robbie Reyes, aka Ghostrider's return is one of the most anticipated on the show. After the season 4 finale where he disappeared into an inter-dimensional hole with the Darkhold, hinting at ihs adventures in the other world, he hasn't been seen.
8. Eli Morrow
Eli Morrow, Robbie's uncle was apparently dragged down to his death in another dimension by Ghost Rider, but in that same episode, he mentioned having being shown the secret to creating life, even after death.
9. James Hellfire
James, an inhuman who could turn any object into a fiery explosive was introduced in season 3, became one of Hive's minions, was freed, and integrated into SHIELD's inhuman protection program. However, in season 4, he betrayed the agency, going through the same withdrawal Daisy endured. They got him back and took him, presumably into custody, but he hasn't been seen or heard from since.
