Met Office says snow could fall anywhere in the UK with cold spell expect to last until weekend
Rain, sleet and snow will create treacherous rush hour travel conditions on Tuesday morning as freezing weather sweeps across large parts of the UK.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England, the south-west and East Anglia, with disruption expected on the roads and railways. The wintry conditions could last into the weekend, with forecasters warning Britain could face unusually cold weather for the rest of the month.
