Hello fellow steemians and uloggers. Today I would like to share with you this Steem application that I have always wanted to check out sinces its release. The desktop application of eSteem Surfer v1.1.12. For those who wants to go ahead and test the application yourself you may want to get it from their github repository which is located here.

If I am not mistaken my first experience using eSteem was using its mobile applicaction last year as it was the most recommended application to use in navigating Steem in mobile and there was also some generous random upvotes for its users. Unfortunately I am not a heavy user of mobile applications. I prefer to use my laptop when exploring Steemit that is why I was so delighted to see that there was a desktop version of the application. Although this application has been out for awhile now I have not really use it as the initial releases were riddle with performance issues (in fact I have already made a feed back about this in Utopia).
This is my first attempt to post in Steem using this condenser and I must say this is probably one of the most well designed and optimized application on Steem. That being said I would like to see how it fairs when using an old computer e.g. a dual core computer (Pentium dual core or core 2 duo) with 2 GB of RAM running under Windows 7.

To encourage people to explore blockchains I have been giving away used computers that I have refurbished and would like to know if these computers can run the application just as fast or even better than other browser-base condensers. As a test I would like to see if there is a significant difference when using an older machine with an older Operating system. I will check if there will be a significant decrease on its performance as well as to check its compatibility.
In order to do this I will start using the eSteem Surfer for a week doing my daily Steem blog-post as and during the week I will discuss the different features and issues (if any that I encounter using the application).
Currently I am using it on my laptop with an 5th gen i5 Intel processor with an up-to-date 64-bit Windows 10 Operating System. Downloading the application was easy and I have not encountered any errors or prerequisite for the completion of the installation. This might not be the case with Win7. We will see that on my next blog-post when I start discussing the installation procedure of eSteem on older CPU and operating system.
On a side note, while writing this article I notice one feature that is lacking in this editor that is pretty much standard in most Steem condensers already. This is the spelling check feature. I guess that feature is integrated with the chrome browser but I think it would be a nice feature to add in eSteem Surfer and if they want to go the extra-mile a grammar checking feature might be nice also. This will be a very helpful tool for everyone especially those who have english as a second language.
That is all for my post today fellow Ulogger, Steemians and Surfers I will see you again next time to discuss my experience installing and using the applications. Unil next time. Happy Steeming everyone!
