When I was just a pocked marked face, noodled-haired and skinny lass of fourteen, being a teacher was a fantasy that never occurred to me.
Instead, I dreamt and often fantasize that I'll gonna be a tough and keen girl detective equipped with the best martial arts just like the Nancy Drew detective series that I am most addicted in reading with.
As the stage of adolescence took grasp of my wild imagination, I longed to be a most sought celebrity in the showbiz industry or perhaps a model of a particular product or way better to be a beauty queen. (a big joke, considering my 5'4 height only)
It was a dream that put me under the limelight when I was chosen as a candidate during one of the Intramural activities.
T'was then an experience that brought me momentary fame with peers and admirers.
After high school, my parents pushed me to be enrolled at a university with a double degree of Bachelor in Elementary and Secondary Education. I never want to be an educator actually. Though considering our financial status, and it's the most decent education that my parents can afford to send me to, I was comforted by the thought that perhaps after settling with a good job after college, I may just proceed in taking up a law course.
At a tender age of twenty, I was very enthusiastic in exploring the world of lights and sounds.
I was aggressive and thought to be a rockstar. (hehe) Performing with a live band.
I eventually graduated with rainbow colors, doing almost all the fun and lesser seriousness in my studies. I was hired right away at a public school in our hometown after teaching a year in a private school. Being a newbie and a fresh face, I was pushed again as a candidate for a local beauty pageant.
I enjoyed being a subject of scrutiny while I tried answering the Q and A with wit and glamour. Though the fame was a short bit since I got into a family way right at the tender age of twenty-two.
Slumped back into reality, I'm presently collecting bits and pieces. And pictures are the sole comfort which entices me to this reminiscings.
Being a teacher drained the last ounce of a false hope. We got to shoulder almost everything, starting from our room structuring, exercises photocopying to even providing a chalk for our board. We do have a chalk allowance which comes at 2500php good a year consumption. It won't and can't compensate all the expenses that we got to accomplished using our own pockets and simply seeking lending sharks to be able to meet up this demands.
With the idea of steemit being introduced to me a good two months ago by a very good friend of me in college and presently a teacher as well, I jumped at the thought of earning a bit from it. It was with the knowledge that I just have to make several posts a day and all I have to do is to sit back and watch it being upvoted and garner cents.
Well, so it's the typical not all stories are meant to be roses. There's always more to a particular thing. I don't know anything about cryptocurrency and how it works. And I often abhor anything that involves numerical computation because Mathematics has always been my waterloo eversince in my studies. Am not being a hypocrite, I admit that "to earn" was always an everyday goal that motivates me in my post. And a great thing because I'm learning tidbits from this system through further readings. My sincere wish to learn more from this.
Better have to finish #Ulog first, my favorite project of @surpassinggoogle that I got the pleasure and immeasurable passion to do as well, so that I will be able to eat my very late dinner now.
Pictures are mine.
Hope I entertain you with my story.
I am with fervent desire to face the reality.
Truly yours,
@drahries.
