Eleven thousand Police (Polri) and army (TNI) joint personnel were deployed to secure the 2019 Election in West Kalimantan. They were placed in 14 districts and cities.
"For 2019, we have prepared around 11 thousand personnel, together with the TNI to spread in 14 districts and cities, in 16 thousand polling stations (TPS)," said West Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Insp. Gen. Didi Haryono, in a written statement on Sunday (23 / 9).
Didi explained, the security patterns carried out included safe TPS, vulnerable TPS 1, vulnerable TPS 2 and vulnerable TPS 3, as well as other special places. West Kalimantan Regional Police have also mapped, while detecting vulnerable points, reflecting on the recent elections.
"Of course, we have had experience in 2014, and the 2018 simultaneous regional election recently. Reflecting on that experience, we together with stakeholders and components of the community can ensure that all of these activities can run smoothly so that our development program can be guarded," Didi said.
Didi also reminded, wise people use social media, and filter content, before being disseminated. The recent Pilkada, according to Didi, complained about 9 cases, both incitement and hoax.
"Based on the experience as well, related to the news in social media that has a hoax nuance, we in West Kalimantan have experience for that. There are 9 that have been processed during the election, and are now proceeding in the court," he explained.
