Before I begin my rambly ramble, I would just like to bring to your attention THIS RAFFLE!!! - it's hosted by @bmj - all proceeds go towards supporting #hayrunners, and you could win a 1000SP delegation! Or a 300SP, or 250SP delegation.
I'm one of the people sharing in delegation duties, and I urge you to enter! ;)

While I'm restricted to doing basically nothing, I thought that a #ulog was in order.
(Yes, I know we can do stuff. But, I love upvoting people, and I hate commenting unless I leave an upvote first. So, my hands are tied for a few days til my power is back up to reasonable levels. I'm sure other people can handle those conditions, but that person is not me.)
Yesterday I performed my first duty as a welfare recipient of an almost-school-aged-child. Visited with an employment centre for a "real" job.
And this is where it went better than I imagined! Instead of telling me to hand in resumes to every retail outlet in town and suffer at the hands of ~The Customer~, I got told that they're actually going to help me accomplish my dreams.
Wait, what??
My gosh, the lady in there was so nice! I love little country town offices, they're always so friendly and not high-and-mighty and not super professional. I love that. More businesses should be like that. Stop being so overly professional! It puts the small little person off. I'm a small little person. It puts me off.
Anyway, she asked me what my goal was. To be a self-published author. "Oh, really?" she asks, eyebrow raised. "Indeed, my good woman," is my casual response... in my head. I'm really an anxious mess at the best of times, this was no exception. A lot of stuttering, mumbling, and awkward giggles ensued. But I managed to get through it, to show her a bit of my writing to prove that I'm not an imbecile with unrealistic dreams, and her response floored me.
"Woah... this is actually very well written. I like this! You have a gift."
No longer was one eyebrow raised, two were raised! And she was smiling!
"Well, there's not much we can do for you. You still have two years before you're required to look for a 'real job', we're just here to give you education and resources until then. But, you're fine. You have a plan, you're working on your plan, you have realistic goals and a timeframe... oh, I know! We could help you with marketing!"
YES, PLEASE.
She happens to know a few marketing consultants, and knows one of them very closely, and will be gathering information for me for my visit next fortnight.
It's all coming together.
I mean, I'm more optimistic today than I will be next week. But, you know. I like that I have help. I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm not the type of person to ask for other peoples help, so I'm grateful that this is basically foisted upon me. Also grateful that I'm not required to be a slave for another couple of years. I have two more years of dedicated writing, and the boy WILL BE AT SCHOOL which means I WILL HAVE TIME! Yay! Time! Might actually get this done and be capable of being my own boss!

In case you can't tell, the boy is happier with selfies than I am. But here's me! And the boy! He's awake, I'm so very tired, always tired.
That's about all I have to ramble about at the moment. :) We need to go into town for a few things today, and then... well, more writing. Chapter Three of Vengeance will be up this coming Wednesday! I'm sorry that it wasn't posted this week, but, you know, HF20 happened.
In a way, I'm kind of grateful for the missed week. ;) This puts me a week ahead! Hehe.
Well, I've guesstimated my power to be back to working numbers by Sunday. So, until then: Gone Fishin'
;)

An ancient curse roams Fan’driel and Lyria is the sole survivor of its deathly wake. Borne of a forbidden bloodline, she attempts to build a new life for herself in her Lord’s city without divulging her secret —a magic that serves as both gift and curse— but unable to predict her own fate she finds herself entangled within Fan’driel’s deeper politics, her hand destined to shape the future… for better or for worse.Instead of turning my work into an ebook straight off the bat, I'm serialising it! You can find a new chapter each Wednesday at Kaelci.net and the latest chapter (Chapter Two at the time of writing this) is available here on Steemit!
