Have you tried eating this? We call this silag in Ilocos. I don't know its English or Filipino name. It's like a mini coconut with a shell and white coconut-flesh-looking thing inside. It kinda taste like coconut too. The only thing missing is the coconut juice counterpart.
They sell it like this, cut into cubes for easier peeling. The texture of it is similar with coconut flesh, some are hard to bite and some are soft. The peel have a bitter taste. Don't eat the peel though. I just bite on it for me to open it easier. It's kinda hard to open when your nails are short.
The taste isn't that impressive but I enjoyed snacking on it. It's a good snack to eat when you're bored. It's also nostalgic for me to eat this because I remember eating this when I was a kid.
Let me know what you call this at your place. :)
