Cayanga Bridge
I always traverse this bridge to and from neighboring towns. It is a major bridge linking Pangasinan to the Northern provinces of Luzon - La Union, Baguio.
It had been under renovation, undergoing widening.

It started 2017! It was surprising to learn that the renovation has already been more than a year.
It was stable and strong. Until typhoon Ompong came.
The southern part of the bridge collapse because of the swollen river that eroded the land underneath the bridge. The river current was that strong. Like it actually have a life and found a way to go to the sea. Nothing can stop it. If there is no way, I will make a way. So says the river.
So a ten-minute ride going to my little one's school located in Mangaldan, a town after San Fabian, right now has become thirty-minute ride. We have to go around San Jacinto to get to Mangaldan.
It was some good news though that authorities are already in action. They are to make a temporary foot bridge.
I hope the reconstruction will be start sooner and be finished ASAP.
I always traverse this bridge. But I never really appreciated it.
It was only now that I came to be thankful for its existence. Now when it was damaged.
