What a beautiful day!
We just got home from an unplanned road trip where we learned a ton, thanks to a cousin whom we encountered along the way and spared almost 3 hours of his time sharing his secrets keys to his trades (success), which I realized to be the same things my youngest brother had been imparting to us over the last few years. It's a humbling experience, especially since we are a couple of years older than he, yet he knows better.
When the student is ready, the teacher appears, Tao Te Ching said, and it's true. That's how I see it anyway, in our case. Sometimes, we hear the same things (or advice) from different people, but somehow, we neglect to truly listen to most of them, until someone comes along, says the exact things, and everything seems to make so much sense.
Why does such happen?
The hubby said maybe because not everyone's frequency is in tune (in sync) with ours. Hmmm... that could be the reason. Just like when nothing is sinking in while listening to a sermon from a certain minister or priest in church, no matter how much we want to grasp something.
Gah! I don't even know if I'm making any sense with my ramblings today, lol! But yes, the time spent with the cousin was worth it. It made me realize that we have been wasting my brother's wisdom. What an unfortunate oversight that was! Or perhaps we have been too complacent, hence we failed to notice how much he wanted to help us discover and use our full potential, as we are usually playing it safe.
Strike while the iron is hot, the cousin teased us repeatedly, and we could only laugh because we are guilty of not pushing hard enough, although we know we can do better.
But yes, today's encounter is an eye-opener, and we are thankful. Maybe it's the perfect time to find our spark and shine brighter than ever?
