"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." -Marilyn Monroe
Having a date to shoot and trying to put together so many moving pieces can take away from the actual art making side of being an Artist. From idea to shoot date there are so many logistics that take up time, energy and money that some of my time actually working on the script has been put on hold. Fortunately, by adding Courtney (who is a DREAM) she is making sure that basic tasks get done so I can continue bring my focus back to the re writes of my script.
Writing is re writing.
And the creative process often feels a little more like this...
Not everyone will like the content you want to create and not everyone will understand the passion you have for your own project. And sometimes that fear of pleasing an audience can stifle the creative process. I trust my team deeply and they have lots of ideas and opinions and always want the best for the project. However, only I can see what's inside my head and my job is to truly flush out the idea and make it the best it can be on the page. Some days it feels AMAZING and some days it feels like GARBAGE.
The point is to keep creating. To show up and do the work.
Not every part of the creative process will be amazing. There will be moments of light that keep you going and in moments of doubt and conflict- that is where the growth is.
Today we took some photos for @fundition updates like these and also for us to help us find the FUN and PLAY within the creative process. The research, the photos, shopping, browsing and reading all help give the team more information to make sure we have a very full world for this movie. It's important to me to share with you the not so wild and exciting days of being a film maker because those are just as important and where the real work is on the path to making a movie!
